Loose Gemstones in Hong Kong

Many of our clients come to us for a stone first. Some take it home loose; others choose a stone and have us make a piece around it. Either way, it begins the same way: the stones on the table in front of you, in good light, with time to look properly.
The gemstones we work with
Our family has cut gemstones in our own workshops since 1991, so the studio usually holds a wide selection of loose stones, and many of them never appear on the website. We work with sapphires in many colors, both heated and unheated, as well as emeralds, rubies, spinels, tourmalines, garnets, aquamarines, peridots and morganite.
We keep stones across a wide range of sizes and prices. Tell us roughly what you would like to spend, and we will show you the finest we have within it.

Cut and checked by our family
Before you decide, we tell you the origin of the stone and whether it has been treated. Many of our stones come with a report from an independent laboratory, including GRS, GIA, SSEF, Gübelin, Guild and SIG, and for a stone that does not yet have one, we can arrange a report on request.
Pawanya trained at the Gübelin Academy and completed the SSEF Advanced Coloured Stone Course in Basel, which focuses on determining the origin and treatment of emeralds, rubies and sapphires. She is always happy to walk you through what a report does and does not tell you.

How a viewing works
Viewings are by private appointment at our studio in Central, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Before you come, tell us the stone you have in mind, the color and size you like, and roughly what you would like to spend, and we will have a selection ready when you arrive. If you are only in Hong Kong for a few days, send us your dates and we will do our best to fit you in. If you cannot visit, we can show you stones by video.
Taking it home loose, or having it set
A loose stone is yours to keep as it is or to set whenever you are ready. If you would like us to make a piece around it, most bespoke commissions take three to four weeks from first conversation to finished jewelry in 18K gold. You are also welcome to take the stone home now and decide on the design later.
